The GBA SP Speaker from RetroSix is a replacement speaker for consoles with an amplifier mod, such as the CleanAmp Pro . The clear material complements clear or semi-transparent shells particularly well.
In an unmodified GBA SP without an amplifier mod, this speaker is very quiet. To replace a weak or faulty original speaker without an amplifier, you should therefore choose the Replacement speaker for Game Boy Advance SP .
Without an amplifier module, the speaker is very quiet. It is intended for use with an audio amplifier such as the CleanAmp Pro .

RetroSix has designed the clear speaker for the GBA SP to handle up to 1 watt, which exceeds the original’s specifications. According to RetroSix, no GBA SP amplifier on the market can drive a speaker with more than 0.5 watts; higher ratings such as ‘2 watts’ therefore offer no advantage.
To achieve full volume, the console requires a modern audio amplifier such as the CleanAmp. In an unmodified console, the speaker remains very quiet.
