The CleanPower replaces the original Game Boy power regulator board with a modern, smooth and healthy power supply.

The original power regulator board is 30 year old technology - it is inefficient by today's standards, unstable and not good for Game Boy electronics.
The original 5V supply could not cope with the system load and regularly collapsed, resulting in an unstable power supply. The negative voltage line for the LCD display was at its capacity limit and degraded over time, leading to lack of contrast and eventual failure. In addition, the entire controller board was causing noise, which caused many problems such as loss of audio quality.
The CleanPower board from RetroSix fixes all these problems and provides a clean, stable and efficient 5V and negative LCD power supply to extend the life of your console.
Installation is simple: unsolder the wires from the old voltage regulator and connect them to the CleanPower in the same order. The CleanPower input range on VIN is 2.5V to 12V, giving modders greater flexibility when installing 2S Lipo kits.
