The RetroSix CleanJuice USB-C Power Board for the Sega Game Gear completely replaces the console’s outdated original power board. It upgrades your handheld to a modern, efficient power supply and adds a built-in USB-C charging function for the NiMH rechargeable batteries inside the unit, without you having to remove the batteries to charge them or cut into the shell. The board is compatible with both standard NiMH AA batteries (‘rechargeable batteries’) and normal disposable batteries.
Optional: Order suitable NiMH AA batteries at the same time. Panasonic’s Eneloop batteries are among the best AA batteries currently on the market and are characterised, amongst other things, by their high capacity of 1900mAh per battery and their long service life. Eneloop batteries retain their charge for longer when not in use than comparable, conventional AA batteries.

The original Game Gear power board is considered to be of poor quality and is often unable to cope with the demands of modern mods such as the CleanScreen and CleanAmp. The CleanJuice AA replaces it entirely with a clean, modern circuit board featuring extremely low residual ripple, overvoltage/undervoltage and current protection, as well as a USB-C charging port that replaces the original DC socket. This allows you to charge your batteries without having to remove them from the console.
Charge the device at any time using any USB-C-to-C or C-to-A cable and charger. You can even charge the console from your smartphone (reverse charging), provided it supports power sharing. This means you can easily charge your Game Gear on the go using your mobile’s battery.
